Why the hell are humans like this?

Your brain is basically a caveman running modern software. Think about it. You can literally order food from another country talk to someone on the other side of the planet, and ask a computer to write you a poem about a depressed frog. But your brain is still obsessed with some pretty ancient problems. 'Do people like me?' 'Am I safe?' 'What are those people doing?' 'Can I get more food?' 'Is that person attracted to me?' And honestly, that mismatch is kind of insane. Because the world around us has changed ridiculously fast… …but our brains evolved under a completely different set of conditions. And I think that explains a LOT of the weird things humans do. It's why we get addicted to notifications. Why rejection can hurt so much. Why we care about what strangers think. Why games can make us feel genuinely emotional. And honestly, it's part of why I'm so obsessed with making games and apps. I'm fascinated by this weird little machine inside our heads… and what happens when you put it in a world it was never really designed for. So that's basically what I want to explore here. Just…why the hell are humans like this?
