How well do you actually know the world?

Everywhen

A daily where-and-when game. Four real places a day to put in space and time.

Four places a day

I noticed I could recognize a place instantly and still have no idea where it was — that the picture in my head of the world is mostly texture and almost no coordinates.

Place 1 of 4. You get a photograph and a blank world, and you have to commit.

Everywhen gives you four real places a day and asks you to put each one in space and time.

It isn't trivia. It's just: look at this, and say where, and when.

Score first, story after — the city the Spanish never found, and why the terraces aren't only farmland.

Playing my own game has been humbling in a specific way. I'm often close on the where and wildly wrong on the when. I seem to carry a decent sense of what places look like and almost none of what any decade looked like.

Eight of three hundred and seventy-three lit up so far. The passport fills continent by continent, and every place you've been keeps its picture.
